Check out this great tour with the deep voice of our very own Brandon Green. He speaks on top of some awesome music.“Arc is Enough” by Sean Wayland. Its a great tune, and he has a ton of other awesome music as well so give it a listen.

Have Great Advice?
Hi
A few changes would help us. All posted gigs should indicate if they are open to submissions from international artists as it is a waste of money to apply only to discover they are only interested in national artists. It would be good to rate gigs by renumeration, and professionalism, ie if they targeting young bands who only are looking for experience and not an income then we could not bother receiving info on them.
I can more or less be sure an opportunity will be unsuited if they are looking for all genres but I haven’t been able to figure out how not to receive all those pop, rock listings. We have asked for listings for jazz, folk, world and classical and there are not very many good listings in these categories and we have to wade through so much stuff that is not appropriate.
So far feedback from presenters that we have applied to has been next to nothing and the dates set by which we might hear back are too close to the event so it would be impossible to plan for as confirmed dates have to be set aside at least six months ahead of the events to make it it work.
We use our EPK mostly for our own contacts because sonicbids listings are more oriented to young rock/pop/ oriented bands.

Hi everyone,
Just to second everything said by Jessica Machando.
Most importantly:
“All posted gigs should indicate if they are open to submissions from international artists as it is a waste of money to apply only to discover they are only interested in national artists. It would be good to rate gigs by renumeration, and professionalism, ie if they targeting young bands who only are looking for experience and not an income then we could not bother receiving info on them.”
With our thanks for your attention to these important points
which would save us a great deal of time.

Hi,
if you would limit gig notices to parties, events, socials, club and venue gigs, conventions, etc. for the San Francisco Bay Area, smooth jazz and light r and b,
it would be better for my me.
Thanks,

Keep it Australian!
I can’t just up and grab my private jet as yet!
Also, be aware that many artists have families – we’re not all kids.
You pay teachers, audio people, producers.
The artist produces, and needs to be paid for their services too!

Personally, I would like gig listings exclusively for Australia at the moment – as that’s where I live.
Thanks, David

YO – Sonic Bids Crew !
Is there a simple process to file as simply a singer/songwriter soloist so I don’t get listings for BANDS,
international events that are impossible to obtain, NATIONAL
BIG HYPE convos, fests that NEVER book the little guys ?
Thanks — I needed to say that !

I’ve just restricted my options to Europe, I’m really not interested in air-miles to perform, but have I just ruled out the opportunities for my music to be included in libraries and TV and film abroad?
Interesting to think, following previous comments that even if I apply for opportunities closer to home, that what they’re really looking for is an international artist? Could explain my failure to book a single performing gig through Sonicbids? :O(

@ Cheryl Hillier “I’ve just restricted my options to Europe, I’m really not interested in air-miles to perform, but have I just ruled out the opportunities for my music to be included in libraries and TV and film abroad?”
- Those location specific details are for live gigs only. If you’ve selected the boxes next to “Contests and Competitions” and the “A&R Publicity & Licensing” you’ll still get the notifications for those regardless of your locale.
Hope that helps!

would like to get songwriting opportunities at this time. If the band picks up and we start gigging, great. Otherwise, I’d just like to forward some songs.
Thanks

Hey y’all, we are a working club/festival band looking for work in the Mississippi River Valley of Arkansas, Memphis, Miss., LA and Texas. Don’t care much about anything else. How can we only find out about these kind of gigs, and limit the thousand of needless emails we get from y’all.
Mike Dollinjs wrote on August 16th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
@ Nick Santangelo – You can do that! Do not select that you’d like to hear about “Live Performances” and “A&R/Publicity/Licensing” and you’ll only receive notifications about Songwriting and competitions.
@ Mike Dollinjs – Just the opposite of Nick here, only select Live Performances and then set your location.
Just watch the video and you’ll see how it all works!

One change would really help: disable.
I’m about to activate mail block on the sonicbids.com domain as it seriously clogs up my mailserver. I prefer to visit the web every now and then.
Snorri H. Gudmundsson wrote on August 21st, 2009 at 3:26 pm
@ Snorri, there is that option as well! Uncheck all boxes except “Never, ever. I don’t want to hear about gigs.” and you’ll be all set.

I would be grateful if you would ONLY send me information about performance venues in the DC/MD/VA region.
Thank you for providing this web site, though.

Please limit gig notifications to the Greater Toronto Area.
I would also prefer gigs for my one-man show. In my one-man show I play a Wells Floor Bass with my feet and do guitar, mouth organ and vocals and incorporate an electronic drum machine. The music includes a variety but classic Rock and Roll is what I like to play.
James Aeichele wrote on September 19th, 2009 at 8:14 pm
I would like to see gigs for non-traditional, Christian Artists, with Country Blues and Rockabilly leanings w/Christian lyrics, if such a thing exists.
And I would like to see some in the Southeastern U.S.A.
Thanks.

I would like to have more choices than Contemporary Christian music gigs. I sing Christian Country and Praise/Worship music.

Hi Sonic Bids Staff:
I am a solo performer/singer/songwriter, though I have back-up musicians and vocalists on my CDs. My primary interests are opportunities for solo performers,ie Folk Festivals,Coffee Houses, House Concerts (Paying gigs), Songwriting Contests, Radio Opportunities etc.
I think you are doing a great job, and I thank you for all your great help and support in the past.

I’m not complaining, but after making changes to my Gig Alerts, and also after leaving a couple of comments about what I need,in the way of gig alerts, I don’t understand why I received a MamaPUBlooza Gig Alert for Mothers. I don’t look like a female nor act like a female, and I have never wanted to, in any way act like a Mother nor be a Mother. I realize it could have just been a mistake, which we all make. However, I don’t need to get alerts about any gigs geared toward women. I am 100% man, endowed like a wild field mouse!
Thank you, and it’s OK if you don’t include this.
