Fellow Sonicbidders,

This is my first post at the new home for my blog that I call “Panos’ Brew” (good, pitch black coffee = heaven).

I promise to keep updating my blog frequently so keep coming back for random thoughts and unbridled musings on this fun new world we’re all a part of. If you want to access my previous blog posts, you can find them here.

This morning we launched a new section on the site called the “Lounge”. Jenny, Tony and Lou from the team felt that Sonicbids was missing a place where you could go and get career insights, practical tips and general music business knowledge — so we created one right here.

You can now come to lounge.sonicbids.com to access:

• This very blog of course;
• Insights and advice from indie promotion geniuses like Peter Spellman;
• Tips to help you get the most out of your Sonicbids membership;
• Submit your own articles and share your insights with other Sonicbidders;
• And a whole lot more;

This section is meant to be fun and interactive so we’re interested in getting your educational and interactive submissions too. Just send them, to lounge@sonicbids.com.

Take a peek and let us know what you think. Remember, Athens was not built in a day – we’ll be making updates and posts to the Lounge every day so keep coming back.

Panos

Sonicbids Founder

P.S. Why “Lounge”? Because we want you to come here and kick back, read, write and share.

Hi Panos

It’s very great this blog!! I take a moment to give you some “thumb’s up” for all you do here, for the music and for the artist!!

I’m a french canadian come from quebec province and I find your site professionnal and I hope to have more gig booked by Sonicbids!!

One question is running always in my head, have you think to put a “French Section”? I guess that you have gig in France , Belgium, and all country who’s speak french. I’m not so bad in english but sometimes it’s hard to capture all of the subject for a gig. It’s just a proposition, I guess you will reach more French artist if you put a “french Section”.

Thank you for supporting artist and read this message!!

see you

Hi, Panos, Great idea about Lounge Jenny.
We hope good experiences from our band members, too.
And is great to have Peter Spellman in our Lounge, because I´m a fan reader from his articles.
We hope that ATHANATOR can be a sucess there in US, because our metal band is from Colombia, South America and we need a little of luck to conquer the escene.

Keep in touch.

We just got back from a week of recording sessions in Orlando, FL with producer Brett Hestla. We tracked the first 6 songs for an upcoming record and have some decent rough mixes. The idea is to independently produce the album and try to get a label to sign us for distribution and promotion.

MY QUESTION: How can I start shopping these mixes to majors and large indies now, as opposed to waiting for the album to be complete?

All advice is welcome!

Hello,
We are working on the 2nd Cd and what a job!

We are still looking for any label to pick us up, we all know how that goes, He He He.

MY QUESTION: How can I start shopping these mixes to majors and large indies now, as opposed to waiting for the album to be complete?

I have had some little bites. RTS Never got back to me.

Am I right or wrong please tell me? We use live recordings like the Little Zoom. Example start up song on our web site.
Is this good enough to send recording co.?

All advice welcome.
